The BulbEater is a one-man operation that enables the reduction of large volumes of lamps to be processed quickly and efficiently.
Here is the result of processing your large pile of lamps through the BulbEater. Note: the mercury vapour has been safely removed by the BulbEater's unique 3stage filtration system.
Safely transferring the full drum of crushed lamp waste to our Fully Accredited Recycling Plant for further processing.
Here is the LSS1, our EA licensed static process plant that segregates, cleans and decontaminates all of the lamp waste consigned to us for recycling.
Here you can see the clean glass and metal components after processing through the LSS1 - Note: The Phosphor Powder shown here will be sent, for accredited re-processing to Quicksilver Recovery Services of Berwick-upon-Tweed to ensure the complete recovery of elemental mercury for approved Recycling.
The glass has now been separated cleaned and decontaminated by the process.
Currently the decontaminated glass is used as an aggregate filler material in the construction of mass concrete blocks used by e.g. Builders Merchants for the separation of their sand, gravel and aggregates into bays.
The aluminium end-caps are now clean, and thoroughly decontaminated.
Under separate contract, the aluminium end-caps are turned into metal billets thereby creating new feed-stock for the manufacture of a diversity of other metal products.
The mercury bearing phosphor powder has been separated from the other lamp constituents and is ready to be forwarded to QRS for further processing to fully recover the elemental mercury.
Under separate contract, the recovered mercury being 99.99% pure can be used within the Chlor-alkali or other approved industries.
